David Jamieson wins by-election for Labour

I am absolutely delighted that David Jamieson won the West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner by-election for Labour on 21 August 2014.

With a hugely convincing win, and with over 50% of the vote, the public can put their trust in David to protect police numbers on the streets so that we are preventing crime from happening rather than responding to it once it's happened.

David has also committed to taking privatisation of the police off the table - ensuring our police service does not become a slave to corporate interests mainly concerned with profit over public service.

Thanks to all of the Labour members who campaigned in Solihull and Meriden to help make the victory happen.
