On Saturday 18 October I marched in London with Meriden Labour Party members, campaign groups and trade unions for the TUC's Britain Needs a Pay Rise campaign to ask the government and corporations for fairer pay.
The economy is growing and yet the majority of people's salaries are being squeezed. While executive salaries continue to sore to record levels under this Tory government, everyone else is watching the value of their salary decrease year on year. Thousands are living in poverty while a few rich people live in luxury.
While big corporations make large profits. While executives on multi-million pound salaries receive a tax cut from the Tories. While many large corporations avoid paying a fair amount of tax. Things need to change and thousands of hard working people need a pay rise.
