I was out campaigning with super dedicated Meriden and Solihull Labour members on 7 December 2013, against a housing development on Woodlands Green. Labour completely backs development generally because we need more houses, it creates jobs and it improves areas.
However, with this development in Smiths Wood/Kingshurst, the local people are fed up: all green space is being stolen despite the area already being very densely populated; the Tory council isn't listening to them and their anger, and all the development seems to be put forward for the north of the constituency despite this being where there is limited space and greenery. Labour is listening and will use all the signatures it received on this day to defend against the development at a vital planning meeting!
